What is the Yorkshire & Humber Radiotherapy Network?
The Yorkshire and Humber Radiotherapy Network was created to support radiotherapy centres in our region to provide the best care and outcomes for patients.
Our overall aims and objectives are guided by NHS England’s ambition for a modern, innovative and advanced radiotherapy service in England. Some of our key areas of focus include:
- Monitoring waiting times for cancer treatment and supporting centres to improve these
- Bringing together patient experience teams to share information and good practice
- Supporting the adoption of new technologies and sharing best practice
- Reducing variation in clinical practice by undertaking clinical protocol reviews
- Creating a Yorkshire & Humber Radiotherapy Clinical Trials Tracker

Our Centres
The Yorkshire and Humber Operational Delivery Network (YHODN) is comprised of three centres:
- Hull University Teaching Hospital Trust
- Castle Hill Hospital - Leeds Teaching Hospital Trusts
- Leeds Cancer Centre - Sheffield Teaching Hospital Trust
- Weston Park Hospital
Cancer Alliances
We have close links with the Cancer Alliances in our region:
- West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance
- Humber, Coast and Vale Cancer Alliance
- South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cancer Alliance
Cancer Alliances bring together clinical and managerial leaders from different hospital trusts and other health and social care organisations, to transform the diagnosis, treatment and care for cancer patients in their local area. These partnerships enable care to be more effectively planned across local cancer pathways.

Yorkshire and Humber Radiotherapy Network is one of eleven radiotherapy networks in England. All network managers meet regularly to share ideas and collaborate on key projects.
Networks offer leadership support in delivering NHS England’s vision of a modern and innovative radiotherapy service. The Radiotherapy Network team is hosted by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
